Donation policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
This explains where your donation goes, how it is allocated, what you can claim, and where we stand on refunds. Second Nile Global Corp. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 92-0989508.
Where your donation goes
You choose the programme when you give, and your donation stays in it:
- Water wells. Funds the drilling and construction of wells, one at a time and in order.
- Orphan care. Food, shelter and schooling for orphaned children.
- Qurban. We perform the sacrifice on your behalf and deliver the meat to those in need.
A donation to one programme is never quietly moved into another. If a programme ever cannot use a gift for the purpose it was given, we will contact you rather than reassign it.
How water well donations are allocated
Wells are funded one at a time, in order. Your donation goes to the well currently raising. If it takes that well past its goal, the remainder rolls into the next one rather than overshooting, and your receipt shows the split. Nothing is held back.
Each well has its own page showing what it has raised against its goal, so you can check where a gift went rather than take our word for it.
Tax deductibility
Second Nile Global Corp. is recognised by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 92-0989508. Donations from US taxpayers are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
You receive a receipt by email as soon as your donation is processed, and every receipt stays available in your account. No goods or services were provided in exchange for your donation.
We are not able to give tax advice. What you can claim depends on your own circumstances, and your accountant is the right person to ask.
Refunds
Donations are final and are not refunded. A gift is put to work quickly, and in the case of Qurban the animal may already have been bought and the sacrifice performed on your behalf, so by the time we hear from you the cost has genuinely been incurred.
Processing errors are the exception, and we correct them whenever you notice them. If you were charged twice, charged an amount you did not enter, or charged by a fault on our side or our payment processor's, write to support@secondnile.org and we will put it right. Refunds go back to the card or account you gave from and usually take five to ten days to appear.
Please check the amount before you confirm. The donation form shows exactly what will be charged, including the processing fee if you choose to cover it.
Monthly giving
Monthly donations continue until you stop them. You can pause or cancel at any time from your account, with no notice period and nothing to ask us for. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not reverse donations already made.
Each month's gift goes to whichever well is raising at the time it is charged, so your giving follows the work rather than staying attached to a well that has already been funded.
Fees
Card processing costs a small percentage of each donation, charged by Stripe or PayPal rather than by us. At checkout you may choose to add that amount so the full value of your gift reaches the programme. It is entirely optional, and a donation is just as welcome without it.
Governing law
This policy, and any donation made through this site, is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Anonymity
Your name is not published anywhere unless you choose to show it, which is off by default and changeable in your account. Dedications are shown only where you ask for them.
